Ephesus and the New Humanity

In Ephesus and the New Humanity, Bishop Reg Piper has provided comment on 40 selected Bible readings to follow throughout Lent which trace the history of Ephesus and her daughter churches from their beginnings in Acts to their final mention in Revelation. Also included are six group sessions on the letter to the Ephesians. This is a story of God's "new humanity" as it developed in the city of Ephesus and from there, throughout the Roman province of Asia. It is also a sad story of the gradual decline of this new humanity - given the extraordinary title of "bride of Christ" - from passionate lover to dutiful wife.
